Calories in, calories out. From what I know, he lowered his daily calories to 800 and pretty much only worked out. It's somewhat fair to be suspicious, but judging by the dude's personality, upbringing, and all the health problems he went on to develop after the fact, I think it's pretty believable. Ridiculously aggressive cuts work; they just aren't sustainable for most people, as I said.
