I was most intrigued to learn that my previous correspondence, though composed with great care and clarity, was apparently not granted the courtesy of a proper reading. While I remain ever hopeful that earnest communication might prevail, I must confess a certain disappointment at this revelation.

Nevertheless, I shall endeavor once more to present my thoughts with the calm dignity befitting a civil exchange. I ask only that you extend to these words the same attention I have taken in crafting them. It would be most agreeable if our future discourse might be conducted with mutual attentiveness, that we may avoid the needless confusion which arises when one party elects not to engage fully with the other’s remarks
