This book/film is so blackpilled.
Basically some old ugly guy (Gustav) is visiting Venice and falls in love with the beauty of a boy (Tadzio). As I was watching it, I was thinking about this forum.
Tadzio is representative of naturally good looking people, and Gustav is basically you and other lookmaxers.
At one point in the story, Gustav dyes his hair darker, paints his face with makeup, adds rouge to his cheeks and darkens his eyebrows. He is in denial of his true looks. Tadzio is effortless and natural. Gustav is an imitation. A tragic attempt to compete.
By the end of the story Gustav becomes ridiculous, chasing beauty, painted in makeup (think poorly-blended tinted SPF for looksmaxers today) and in total denial.
You guys are all a bunch of Gustavs.
