Death of comics. Can it be stopped?

Let me just get started, I love comics, I have shelves of comics and have always loved them my whole life, DC especially has always been there for me. Through the times of upset, love, excitement, boredem and every time between. There's something honestly beautiful about getting lost in a world of superheroes symapthising with villains sometimes and theorising about all things in it. Comics are brilliant and have made millions of happy for decades but they just don't hit anymore. I have some reasons to why comics in particular but the wider areas of DC and Marvel are being left behind and losing fans.

Woke stuff

Firstly woke stuff, comics have always mainly been for male kids, teenagers and adults and what do they wanna see? Hot women, cool superheroes and fighting. Do they wanna see a gay Tim Drake? NO. Do they wanna see wonderwomans stupid woke twin? NO. They wanna see batman and robin kick his rogues asses and wonderwoman battling to the death with supervillains.

This is a very controversial one but it is all together true. Look at this picture of Jim and Barbara in the new batman show and this of Norman.
Do they need to be black? No. Are there perfectly good characters out there who are black being robbed of screen time? YES.

Bonus thing I hate about DC right now

Look at this in all its disgusting glory. This is disgusting and fetish material. Some freak got a job at DC just to make what he could have done on deviant art for free. Kids are impressionbable and studies show exposure to fetish material has lead to them developing these fetishes later in life. Do we want kids getting this, Me along with many other kids I am sure went to comic book shops and read comics, Imagine picking this shit up and reading it.

The final reason

Honestly I think the MAIN reason is Comics just are not as popular anymore. They are a niche growing smaller and smaller. Go to a comic con what do you see? Tonnes of manga and anime fans. This is because they are interesting in premise and are not overdone which sadly comics are really nowadays. There may not be anything that can be done to bring comics back to fruition and if I was DC I would focus on the movies as that is where the money is. Is creature commandos good? Yes. Does anyone care really past the main fans? No. Atleast give the fans what they want with the comics instead of focusing on trying to appeal to new niches. Still I never thought DC would stoop so low to making lowly fetish content.

Comics have many different authors and universes which is my problem with them. People will suggest a good run sometimes but it’s usually not that cohesive a story and just a snapshot. I guess you could tailor the ideal experience by picking up an order to read certain stories one after the other, but idk.

That’s why I prefer anime/manga. Even ones with a million series that can be hard to get into, I prefer the continuity etc.

I think James Gunn will revive some of what DC has been dying from. GOTG was literally made up of only Z-List characters Pre-MCU, but still managed to be highly regarded and memorable. Superman is literally the most popular superhero of all time and it's probably going to be just as good as that film was, which will start a linear Superman storyline that people are going to follow; just like in the MCU with a character like Captain America. DC Comics may die, but the characters will certainly be sustained.

It's literally on par with the atmosphere The Batman was able to produce, and will have an insane story. I wouldn't be surprised if its projected to surpass The Batman's box office by the second week of it's release in mid July.

comics are already dead, at least have a small niche to it. not as big as gook shows or gook books. doesn’t help that modern comics especially DC push a certain agenda, really liked the grittiness and art style of older comics, they had the best stories too hahaha. the thing is live adaption movies are what matters the most to the average person, that’s the only way something like batman got real exposure and mainstream attention in general. issue with that is if you have a shit writer like zack snyder he ends up butchering up characters leaving people with a shit perception of batman and superman

Comics will never make a comeback until they give up their old traditional ways and adopt Japan's standard. No one wants to wait a month to get 15-20 pages while popular manga are getting 20 pages every week. Drop the color, let the creators own their IP's so they actually give a fuck about the story and bring in original concepts, let all types of stories flourish not just superhero stories, and stop with the multiple timelines. People want characters with a start and an end. It is why Invincible popped off.
