Alright, I sat down and actually read through that massage gun / osteoblast differentiation thread that's been going around, and I gotta be the bearer of bad news: it's citogenesis. The papers are real, taken in the wrong context, and stitched together to look legit.

Why the massage gun thing doesn't hold up
The claim is "bone responds at 0.5–0.9 MPa, that's what a massage gun does, therefore massage gun = holy bone growth. Sounds sciency and shit but here's the problem:
The compression studies being cited (Flexcell-5000C stuff) are cells in a PETRI DISH getting controlled mechanical compression in a lab rig. It is NOT a vibrating device pressed against your face through skin fat and muscle. Nobody has actually measured what pressure a massage gun delivers to bone, after all that soft tissue eats the force the number's just assumed not measured

The fracture-healing study (locking plate, tibia) is about bone that's already broken and healing under surgical hardware. That's an completely different biological situation than "intact skull bone getting vibrated." (So you should fracture your bones using hammer first, then use the massage gun😂😂😂)
Facial bones aren't weight-bearing long bones. Wolff's Law is real, but it applies to bones that get loaded through movement. Your femurs, tibias, spine, etc. Your cheekbones don't get "loaded" by amassage gun the way your legs get loaded by running.
Even if osteoblast gene expression ticks up slightly in a dish, that is NOT the same thing as "your face changes shape in a few months."

TL;DR: it's real science Frankenstein'd onto a claim it was never testing. Save your face bhai, don't smash it with a percussion gun.

What actually moves the needle during teen years (this part's boring but it's the real meta)
Bone density and growth during your teens comes down to a short, unsexy list, backed by actual pediatric bone health research
Calcium. RDA for teens is ~1300 mg/day from all sources combined (food + supplement, not stacked on top). This is one of the few windows in life where your body is aggressively laying down bone mineral .most people hit peak bone density by their early-to-mid 20s, and what you bank now matters long-term.
Vitamin D. Calcium without vitamin D is basically calcium you're pissing out. Vitamin D is what lets your gut actually absorb the calcium into your bloodstream and into bone. Get bloodwork if you can, since deficiency is extremely common and easy to miss.
Actual mechanical load; the real Wolff's Law application. Weight-bearing exercise (running, jumping, resistance training 🥵) is the real no bs version of "make bone respond to force." This one is proven, unlike a foid vibrator on your face.
Sleep. (no shit nigga) Growth hormone release is heavily tied to deep sleep cycles. Cutting your sleep to doomscroll is one of the most direct ways to sabotage growth during teen years, stop that shit.
Protein + overall nutrition, not just calcium in isolation. Bone isn't just mineral, it's got collagen matrix that needs good protein to build.
None of this is a hack. It's just: eat enough, sleep enough, load your skeleton the normal way (walking, sports, lifting), and don't run a calcium/vitamin D deficit. Unglamorous, but it's what the actual pediatric bone density literature supports.
On the eggshell calcium thing specifically
If you're going the DIY calcium route: eggshell is basically pure calcium carbonate (its the same active compound as tums or basic drugstore calcium supplements). It works if it's ground fine enough to actually dissolve. chunky powder just sits there undigested. Boil the shells, dry in the sun, grind to a fine powder, and test it: drop a pinch in vinegar, it should fizz and dissolve within a minute or two.
And whatever your calcium target ends up being, get an actual number from a doctor, not a forum teaspoon guess. Supplement doses that don't account for what you're already getting from diet are how people accidentally overshoot the upper limit (3000 mg/day for teens), which brings its own problems like kidney strain, messing with iron/zinc absorption
Anyway niggas. Skip the massage gun shit. Fix your sleep, get your calcium/vitamin D dialed in with an actual doctor, lift some weights, eat enough protein.

dnr this post, might be long and useless

tldnr i never understood why you guys need ti get into so much research into mechanism of hiw it actually works exactly. this shit works, if you tried it long enough you will know. it doesn’t matter what mechanism that is, it just works
