"There is no scientific evidence that Northern or Southern Chinese are inherently smarter than one another;"
- just because studies haven't been done to prove differences in average IQ and academic acumen/success between the two groups. It does not mean that there is no scientific evidence. It just means the question is on the open and you need to do studies to measure the possible difference.
Even placing cultural emphasis on education will reflect in differences between intelligence over the generations because through the generations people become more smarter. Like Ashkenazi Jews or Brahmins.
Or like Singapore where in just 3 generations the average IQ increased by 7 points because of emphasis on nation-wide education.
Singapore has the one of the highest national average IQ in the world.
That's why modern humans are smarter than our ancestors. Because we learnt new skills and learnt more developed languages. Owing to people who spent their time thinking these things through more and sharing with others.
- regional difference is generalization/taking the average. There will be outliers. Like Blacks with high ends of the IQ distribution.
"intelligence is not determined by geography."
Oh really? Is that why East Asians have the highest average IQs out of all human groups? Wherein they evolved to survive extremely harsh winters, the extreme cold made them develop squinty eyes and yellow skin as an adaptation?
Adapting to survive in your environment requires the necessary level of intelligence required to do so.
Harsher environments = more ingenuity requires in order to adapt and successfully procreate
Like Astronauts building spaceships in order to reach the moon, hypothesizing the climate/geology of the moon before sending the astronauts and preparing to survive that particular environment i.e. the moon.
It is a new environment which is distinct from the life on Earth which we are used to and presents far more challenges and requires more innovation to survive like creating and adequately using a spacesuit.
"While stereotypes exist, regional differences are generally linked to environmental, economic, and cultural factors"
You just said "not determined by geography" and then now you are saying "generally linked to ENVIRONMENTAL...". Geography is an aspect of the environment. So you contradicted yourself.
Also where does ideas to develop "economy" and "culture" come from? The human mind.
And what is the human brain? A biological organ.
"rather than biological superiority."
Oh really? Then why children of more intelligent parents inherent their parents' intelligence if there is no genetic anomaly like down syndrome?
Are humans not more vastly intelligent than Chimpanzees? Is that not owing to genetics through generations of selective breeding for intelligence wherein greater intelligence proved to be more successful for survival?
