i have the same issue, its nearly my biggest failo since its catastropically severe. it may be cause because you have a strong chin but a weak mandible like me, so your teeth are a lot more tucked into your mouth than normal even when your chin allows for your jaw to look less recessed. i can show you pics of what it looks on me if you need another reference image

But my issue is complicated bc my teeth aligns fine so I dont think my mandible is retruded?

because your maxilla is equally recessed. it looks a lot better than your mandible because you have a decent brow ridge but i'd recommend DJS in the future with a significant BSSO advancement

That still doesnt make sense though, I get what ur saying but think of it like this

If both ur jaws are equally aligned (even if recessed) that would still NOT cause a deep mentolabial fold bc both jaws are same

Basically ur saying I dont have enough forward growth, but i still shouldnt have a deep fold bc both jaws are aligned thats what im saying

Surgery is the only option if ur mandible is actually recessed / have an overbite

Yeah idk its weird because in typical cases of deep mentolabial fold its just a recessed mandible + projected chin

If u have an overbite its 100% a recessed mandible

Problem is i dont have an overbite so

Bilateral Sagittal split osteotomy = bsso

A double jaw surgery is basically combining surgery on the maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw). Usually it rotates the maxilla to project it more and the mandible is split in half and forced to grow forwards too to give both parts of the jaw more projection

i wouldn't get a genio unless you just want augmentation of the width or shape. definitely don't get a sliding genio because your chin is already decently projected. i would just get a BSSO for mandibular length. if you want i can morph you as well so you can see if it would also help to get maxilla rotation and combine it to DJS
