If you can't or don't set that up, then you shouldn't have a family of your own.
You should think of every possible threat for your family beforehand and plan against each one. Some threats can't be dealt with, but that's just life, you'd just have to accept it

And even if they somehow still get killed, what good will finding the killer do? It's not like you're getting your family back by finding the killer. You either kill yourself or start a new family, it's that easy
