Ok so when u read something like this you think how awful police don’t do anything to rapists
This is done on purpose tho, they inflate the number with alleged “non reported rapes” which are impossible to persecute since police can’t arrest someone they don’t know committed a crime
So a more realistic number would be of every 310 accusations 50 lead to persecution which would be about 17%
And if we are gonna be even more specific according to the FBI 8% of total reports are false so of those 310 reports u can also say 8% got proven false 17% got arrested so essentially 25% of cases are resolved and 75% aren’t which is still a huge number don’t get me wrong but taking into account the difficulty to prove such cases it’s a much more realistic conviction rate
