I want to kill myself
They said my maxilla is narrow (v shaped) and is slightly recessed...
Even though I'm 17, they said they won't be able to expand my palette without SARPE.
it's so over
I want to fucking cry rn

I'm going to get invisalign to fix my slight crowding and IPE (invisalign pallatal expanders) to expand my dental arch but not my maxilla....

I'm 17, my parents won't allow it. My doctor is saying it's not needed for my case as it's not severe and the crowding can be fixed through invisalign. I wish I could get it.

Isn't it the same shit as marpe they just help the suture split before putting it in? Talk to your parents abt it

and that's whats needed for skeletal expansion. They must perform an osteotomy according to them. My parents are scared of surgeries, they won't allow a cosmetic one.

Won't help my case, I need SARPE

I mean if your 17 you can just get a job on the side and make money for it

That sucks. What I'm trying to say is that this "osteotomy" is basically just them splitting the maxillary suture which is literally the exact same thing marpe already does but with surgical assistance, if you could explain that to your parents maybe they'd let you. Try to convince them that it's nothing dangerous

Why isn't my dentist then agreeing to proceed with MARPE? Is he saying my sutures can't be split without surgical assistance? My parents won't believe me. No matter how much I try to explain my logic to them. They're against cosmetic surgeries, even if it's as simple as a rhinoplasty or otoplasty.

Should I see a different dentist?

Because marpe is most effective among teenagers because their skull hasn't fully developed and their maxillary suture isn't entirely fused yet so it's easy to split it without surgical assistance. In your case you're already 17 so it's probably fused so yeah the doctors think that it can't be split without surgical assistance. I remember there was this guy on TikTok who wanted to get marpe but it couldn't split his shit so he ended up paying a second time to get sarpe and only then it was successful

I see... Are you talking about hexumlite? MARPE didn't work for him and he had to get FME for maxillary expansion

I had braces in mid teens and didn't do that close gap/distance between upper and lower teeth shit and it all ended up growing in correctly and closing the gap on its own in my early 20s anyway. Not saying it is the same as you just saying they wanted me to do that anchoring over night thing to close the gap and I didn't do it and it settled and fixed itself growing in perfectly right on its own over time and that it maybe isn't always 100% over.

Edit: BTW braces are one of the best highest ROIs you can do for looks. Perfect straight teeth always mogs and halos as fuck.
