You can just decide to unidentify with who you "are" and be someone new
You can literally invent a new persona and decide to embody it, and it is no less valid an identity than whatever boring one you keep reinforcing that gets you nowhere

Less easy to fix, but chances are you aren't as ugly as you think if you dwell here
And you don't need to be GL to have friends. I know subhumans with thriving friend groups. If you're chasing "popularity" and to place high on whatever meaningless hierarchy exists around you then maybe looks come into it. But more than anything else its just about finding common ground with people and realising your mutual desire for connection
