Derm recommended hydrocortisone cream 1% for chapped lips for a few months

I have been using this cream for about a week and my lips healed quite well, but I heard people say to not use it over 2 weeks, derm said I can use it for a few months, is my derm retarded or not?

Derm didn't mention this, I was just told to use it 3 times a day altough I only used it twice a day max, more like once a day before sleep
