So i have little diffuse thinning and a receding left temple, it's not totaly recognizable now but it might fuck up completely in couple of years so i have to do sth. I am 16 so minox/finasteride is out of discussion. Can i use derma roller at home without fucking it up ? What mm it should be ? Can i get hair gains by using it without minox ? I use alpecin+nizoral but they don't look like they change shit tbh.

im also curious if it does anything or it's just guys using it during their shedding phase then being amazed that their hair is thicker during the growth phase

do dermapen + iodine. I just started doing that for my hairline. @ablanc10 did this + took some supplements and was able to completely restore his hairline.

By the way, yesterday i did a dermapen session. I am growing hairs even in places where i ve never had. Like lowering my hairline 1 cm below my 15 year old hairline. Impressive stuff. Density is also un real, i have so much hair now its difficult to comb it.

is there anything you added to your original protocol?

What kind of iodine do you use? How much do you apply & do you apply directly after a needling session?

wait you use iodine topically @ablanc10 ?

my google search suggested that it only helps topically for hair if you have an iodine deficiency

any iodine is fine, but I use lugol's iodine 2% and that's pretty much the standard. ablanc10 said he uses iodine from his local pharmacy, so you're not going to find his specific kind anyway. Apply it directly after a needling session. As for how much I'm not sure it matters to much, just make sure you cover the area that's been microneedled.

I'm so happy for you man.

How long have you been at it - any results?

nah i've only done 2 sessions. Imma wait 12 weeks (12 sessions) until I make a verdict. But many of the people that I've seen microneedle take a few months before they see significant results. I might make a thread if I see good results

How deep do you go?

How deep do you go?
i go the deepest setting on my dermapen which is 2mm which has me bleeding a bit. Plus I have visible wounds after and they take like a week to fully go away. I probably may be putting too much pressure, but i honestly don't mind the bleeding, so I'm going to continue the way I am doing it. Part of the reason I go until I bleed is because I saw this post. This guy did very intense dermarolling and he bled a lot (i don't do it anywhere near as extreme as him, i think he's actually mentally fucked), but his regrowth is very impressive. But ask ablanc10 how deep he does it since it's his protocol

the reason iodine is used is because it's antiseptic, so it helps keep the wounds disinfected and allows them to heal faster. Plus, iodine when applied to scars can help induce hair growth.

https://men-elite.com/2018/11/29/topical-iodine-to-dissolve-scar-tissue/ - This is a personal testimony of someone who used iodine to get rid of his scars.

"Topical Lugol’s iodine solution applied daily to the scar enhanced vasodilation and blood flow to the scar tissue. It also induces hair growth in and around scars. "

That guy was on fin, lipogain, scalp massages and some other stuff

Using fin, min and dermaneedling for ~2 months @ 20 y/o and have
above average amounts of regrowth, might be able to take my NW 2 back to solid NW 1

Okay so question about the iodine. Applied topically how much actually gets absorbed into your body? Because I have slight hypothyroidism which means too much iodine is a bad idea and I should stay in that 100-150mcg range.

I don't have real hair loss yet but my temples are a bit more matured compared to when I was like 17, so I might give this a go.

Directly after needling. Any brand works.

Is this stuff legit?
that's a professional dermapen that they use at clinics. It's expensive plus you can't get it for personal use. You don't need that anyway. any pen will do, but the one ablanc10 and I use is probably the cheapest one on the market (mym dermapen). It really doesn't matter. Here's where I bought from. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000409372707.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.55b54c4dJlyRbR

you can get any type you want tho

not sure tbh, I really wouldn't expect the iodine to go systemic (at least not significantly). If you really are worried, you can just try using dermapen alone, you will still see regrowth if you stay consistent.

Thanks man. Do you dermaroll your skin at all? And if so, can you use the same pen or no?

nah can't be bothered to do that, i don't think it's that beneficial tbh and i already have decent skin. I'd rather just use peels or other actives for my skin. You can use the same pen for sure, but you should use different needles. Just buy needles in bulk so you have a lot at your disposal

I have pics on my threads
I've only seen an after photo where you had rockin hair and sunglasses - u have any regrowth pics posted aside from that after photo? I looked through most of your posts and didn't see any others.

don't want to sound ungrateful, but an after photo isn't nearly as valuable without a before to compare it to.

U also said you managed to lower your hairline beyond the natural point with the iodine and derma right? Have you documented that any?

How old were you when you started? Were you past puberty? And how long did it take you to regrow your hair to a reasonable amount?

Edit: Judging by all the other responses, I don't think there are that many haters here. We really want to know!

I ll also try to pick some photo to show that my hairline is much lower.

21. I started with severe seborreic dermatitis coupled with mpb i believe. I was losing 400 hairs per day. Madness. My father and grandfather didnt have mpb so this was really strange and depressing for me. I tried antiandrogens first, i was in private groups (i was friends with the "mythical" swisstemples back in 2015 i think).i even used 5 caps of dut per day without much success. Almost 3 years ago i started with dermapen and thats when my hair started to really recover. Antiandrogens only halt some hairloss. Dermapen/dermastamp/dermarrolling really regrow hair.

Correct me if I'm wrong - so you were slowly losing ground while on anti androgens for 5 or 6 years and then you started using the derma pen without the use of anti androgens, using topical iodine and castor oil, taurine, Vit K2 and fully recovered the half decade of loss?

I'll let you know in a few months. I've done like 5 sessions. Despite what people say, you won't see results after one or two weeks.

I refuse to use finasteride or minoxidil (partly because I’m not really losing hair yet but mostly because of the side effects) so if this works it’s a god send.
