desperately need hair help

i have super thick wavy italian hair and it blows dick. it has way too much volume and no products behave well with it. it always returns to dry and puffy no matter what i do and it doesn’t look good at all imo. i’ve tried pomades, leave ins, no shampoo routines, clays, powders and nothing works. in desperate need of help. going to try and get a chemical treatment like keratin done but i don’t want my hair flat and pin straight

a perm would make your hair curly, hydrated curls weigh down, that would solve the volume problem no?

i see your point. although i feel like my hair texture would still kick in and any curl products would eventually go dry in a few hours and return back to its original state

100% grow it out the length might help define texture if not consider a perm
alternatively look into curly hair routines u might just have curls and not have known
