It's emptiness, life used to be more interesting when I had my older self even tought the old personality had it flaws

The awareness of time, each day had a "vibe", specially Friday, Saturday and Sunday now I don't feel anything, watching a sunset is still interesting but not as before, I used to have an opinion about myself now I don't have at all

And it's even more brutal as time goes by, you can see your personality vanishing more and more

I'm so distant its terrifying

I dont think therapy would get my old self back

Would probably make me accept the state I'm in currently
cope and hope for better times

Be ready to get so distant that when the emptiness feeling slowly fades away you’ll be craving it like never before.

Wow that almost sounds like completely losing awareness of yourself

Yeah it fucking sucks lol

I genuinely don’t like it when I socialize nor hangout anymore, I miss the feeling of emptiness and not having anything to look forward to purely cause of the fact I’ve never felt so calmer and clear headed.

Yeah I see, but even tough my old self had its flaws life was more interesting

Despersonalization can be good and relieving if short term, if its long terms its terrifying

When you say long term you mean months or years?

If it’s years how fucked am I? :lul:

I can relate. Time goes so fast, every summer passes in an instant it feels like. I look better than ever and have gotten an above average bodycount, but I feel more dead inside than ever. I feel soulless. As a kid I used to play a lot and prank and had a sense of humour. My real self shows sometimes especially if I'm in a good mood and so I can make a lot of jokes, but most of the time I have a poker face and never joyful and barely speak up. The constant need for validation, especially when basic human contact is almost impossible to me, has driven me to alcoholism when I don't get the validation required for me not to feel depressed, and I have developed an anxious attachment style, fearing being lonely.

do you feel disconnected from your identity in general or are you experiencing actual derealization episodes
i used to get them a lot when i was younger due to epilepsy, one of the worst feelings ever
