Women sleep up, they don't date up. They usually date people on their level. It's mathematically impossible for mid women to date up when the sex ratio is close to 1:1. Hotter women have the first and best pick, not the women in the middle of the totem pole. Plus men aren't charitable when it comes to relationships and marriage, since the investment, stakes, and risk are high, they're going to opt for the best they can as well. It's a two way street.

Outliers exist, but definitely not the norm. I've already said it before - when you look at couples where they aren't equally matched in terms of attractiveness, it's more likely for the woman to be the more attractive person in the relationships instead of the opposite. The woman essentially ranks higher in attractiveness relative to other women than the man relative to other men.
