READ THE FUCKING THREAD BEFORE COMMENTING

I had this idea for a while now but can't find any orthodontic device that pushes the teeth inwards through the alveolar ridge.

MSEmaxing
So the basic idea is to, while widening the Maxilla with MSE, make the teeth stay in the same place or push them to the original position through bone.
This would make it possible to get several rounds of MSE without fucking up the bite.

Intermolar width
I had this idea when I saw this pic

Every dumbass can see that the left is a subhuman and the right skull has perfect development, but, although the difference in maxillary width is crazy, the difference in IMW not all that high...
My idea is that the teeth in the left skull are tipped outwards and sit far further outward in the ridge than in the right skull.

TL;dr
IMW doesn't equal wide maxilla -> possible way for more maxillary expansion through MSE

Opinions and ideas on how to push the teeth INWARDS through the alveolar ridge?

Gotta tag a bunch of high iq users that actually read the thread...

Why would you want to push the teeth through the alveolar bone?

That will not project the maxilla at all.

Ronald eads point A (the most forward part of the maxilla) didnt even move forward a nano millimetre after agga

There is no appliance for forward growth apart from mse and fm

Didn't read the thread I see

get a normal palate expander and it'd move the teeth
Wait wait nvm, i didn't notice inward @Darkstrand, i think maybe an orthodontist can do this def not smth u can do at home

I highly doubt such a device exists, also youd also need it for lower jaw
Its too complicated

Why would you? You wouldn't have to expand the lower jaw in the first place

Are you trying to push the teeth inwards and shrink the palate so that the upper expanded arch from mse still meets the lower, or just further increase the width of the upper palate?

Basically to make post MSE palate the same size it was before, this should theoretically allow you to go for several rounds, right?

yes it would work in theory, you would have to get SFOT and place bone on the inner part of the alveolar ridge and then you could just get braces to shrink your palate to whatever you want it to be after it gets expanded

This works with normal braces? I thought they only tip the teeth inwards

I think the entire tooth gets moved, that’s why some people ended up with horse palates after 1970 braces, when their palate wasnt even that narrow to begin with, tipping wouldn’t be enough to cause change like that

There are nothing but benefits to having wide alveolar bone. Artificially narrowing it after expanding the maxilla could not be as ideal as you may have envisioned, because alveolar shape is partly responsible for mandibular projection. You would end up with the kind of horseface pattern that was mentioned above.

Technically what you are looking for though is lip seal/cheek suction.

then whats the point of the lip seal?

doesn't it make the alveolar ridge more narrow? so wouldn't that be bad for mandibular projection

Lip seal ensures that the teeth stay well within the gums. The opposite is seen in some AGGA results in which the anterior teeth have practically been pushed out of the alveolar bone. You still have the tongue exerting pressure on the other side of the alveolar bone, so lip seal would not make it more narrow.

aight thanks, gonna start doing this tbh

how many hours a day should we do this?

Lip seal? It's part of default oral posture much like having the tongue on the palate is. You'll notice that lip suction and tongue suction complement each other.

so for as long as possible then, thanks for the info :)
