Dexmethylphenidate is essentially the more potent active isomer of methylphenidate. It’s typically prescribed when your doctor thinks methylphenidate is a good fit but wants a different effect profile or dose. Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) and Ritalin/Concerta (methylphenidate) can feel different from person to person. Dexmethylphenidate can be "overstimulating" to some (jfl) while it can feel much cleaner and better for others.

If Focalin XR has worked well for you since age 8 but you feel like it’s no longer lasting long enough or helping as much, that’s worth bringing up with your doctor. They may suggest upping the dose, but I have some advice for you: if you aren't being productive, that doesn't mean "oh, i need a stronger stimulant", that sometimes just means "oh, I need to work on my productivity". Trust me, no dose of anything is going to magically make you love locking in 100% of the time (though something adderall may get you a little closer).

Also, if you're curious, I'm also ND as fuck, and am on methylphenidate. I could tell you about my experience, but it really doesn't matter because I'm not you so you would likely have a different experience.

please rep (thumbs up this message) bhai
