At what age do you suggest starting Finasteride?I guess your asking this over your fear over starting finasteride or dutasteride
no one here can guarantee you that the medication you take will have no side effects.
The science basically says this: After puberty DHT takes a negligible role and can be suppressed in most men without side effects. however some men DO react negatively to DHT suppression.
If you want "evidence" use google scholar and read through studies and medical literature
It should be started at the earliest signs of balding after the age of 18At what age do you suggest starting Finasteride?
I've heard some people say you should wait until you are 21 before taking it because your hormones and body are still developing, so blocking it too early might affect late puberty growth/changesIt should be started at the earliest signs of balding after the age of 18
Until then minoxidil is a safe option to buy time, although it will not stop the progression of the hair loss.
Im on it at 17 do it pussyI've heard some people say you should wait until you are 21 before taking it because your hormones and body are still developing, so blocking it too early might affect late puberty growth/changes
But fr the only thing youll miss out on is extra dick growth but most men are done growing there at 16 so your call an extra couple mm on your dick maybe or stopping your hair lossI've heard some people say you should wait until you are 21 before taking it because your hormones and body are still developing, so blocking it too early might affect late puberty growth/changes
It can also slow down your facial and body hair growth and impact your muscle gain and bone strengthBut fr the only thing youll miss out on is extra dick growth but most men are done growing there at 16 so your call an extra couple mm on your dick maybe or stopping your hair loss
evidence for muscle gain?It also can slow down your facial and body hair growth and impact your muscle gain and bone strength
Yes to body and facial hair growth but no to muscle or bone development, dht is inactivated in muscle by 3a hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, as far as bone growth we know that in mice type 1 5ar is much more abundant than type 2 (fin only blocks type 2, which has an almost negligible presence in mice bones and theres even less evidence for it playing a role in human bones). Studies on humans born with 5ar2 deficiency show them having normal bone density and they look pretty developed facially/in their frame. They actually tend to have more muscle due to the increased test from blocking the conversion. Overall the theoretical downsides are 100x less impactful to your looks than what balding will do. Side effects ofc are a different conversation but theyre pretty rare and theres no evidence theyre truly "permanent"It also can slow down your facial and body hair growth and impact your muscle gain and bone strength
Its important for bodybuilders to look leaner/dryer and thats it tbh in terms of positives after 20.Is DHT actually important after the age of 20? Can someone provide actually evidence to prove or disprove it
i take dut and my facial hair still grows extremely quick plus i noticed no muscle loss compared to before I took it. I actuallly noticed a reduction in acne/spots after blocking it aswellIt also can slow down your facial and body hair growth and impact your muscle gain and bone strength
To save you time reading the whole studyevidence for muscle gain?
Spot on, one of the best looksmaxxing drugs oat frTest + 5ar blocker is the fountain of youth. Increases estrogen and reduces dht which makes skin look way better. Maintains perfect hairline.
Just curious is this the study where the whole population studied were people who already claimed to have PFS? Because those people can be very irrational and hypochondriacTo save you time reading the whole study

Bro blocking it with 5ar actually increases testosterone which is way more important lol.To save you time reading the whole study

Yes, this is a good point. Although, they may have stopped using Finasteride for a reason and idk if your point that they are "hypchondriac" is true, but this could be a possible reason for the results in the study. I think it can negatively affect muscle tone but the differences are likely to be negligibleJust curious, is this the study where the whole population studied were people who already claimed to have PFS? Because that population tends to be very irrational and hypochondriac, I really wouldnt rely on self reporting over endocrinology
this is about PFS though, thats not the same as normal finasteride sidesTo save you time reading the whole study

Honestly I just say that because I went on propeciahelp out of curiosity and it was mental. People claiming they lost 4 inches of height or their dick shrunk to half their size, even one guy saying his jaw bone shrunk by 50% when he clearly just got fucking fat lmao. Of course none of these people ever show any medical testing whatsoever, no xrays, no bloodwork, just mass hysteria and fear. DHT is really overrated tbh, it primarily is made and kept in the skin and reproductive area and has little influence outside of thatYes, this is a good point.
