I use prednisone and it has caused acne and excessive hair growth on my back and face. Isn't this the typical effect of steroids?

the increase in artificial cortisol production reduces the body's natural production of cortisol in the adrenal glands, which in turn increases androgen receptor sensitivity so certain tissues (hair follicles, sebaceous glands) will be more sensitive to even normal androgen levels = more facial, body hair growth and acne
