Did I make the right choice of staying quiet in school?

I’m 16 years old (Birthday was a few days ago), and girls a couple of months ago showed absolutely no sign of interest in me, they would come up to me saying “we’re besties right?” and just laugh at my face, I really don’t believe that I’m subhuman and don’t think I should be mistreated this badly and I believe that I am LTN, which I believe is average. So what I did was just stop talking to anyone in person. So did I make the correct choice of just stop talking to anyone and just stay introverted instead of talking to people that just end up calling me a “bitch” for anything I do and be treated like shit by everyone, please help.
