Ruin my brain permanently or am I just delusional?

Yes, studies show that ingesting THC in adolescence causes permanent brain damage in regions associated with memory, learning, impulse control, problem solving, emotional processing, etc. (Hippocampus, prefrontal cortex, amygdala,...). How often did you smoke?

For 3 months before my 15th birthday all day every single day. My father was doing it with me and encouraging that it was okay. So am I too far gone? Then I didn’t smoke for a year after I turned 15 but did Dxm alot

That is quite a lot for a 14 year old. I'd say, yes, there is damage done but not as bad is it could be if you continued (assuming you didn't pick up weed again at 16?). DXM is also worrying, if you abused it then it's probable you suffered long term damage too. Do you experience cognitive problems?

Yes and I hate to say this as it’s embarrassing but at 17 this February I abused crystal meth for a few months. I’m now 2 months sober from everything but I’m quite scared I’ll never be normal again. Is there any hope of reversing this and restoring cognitive function or is the sad reality that at a certain point one is too far gone?

And what kind of damage do you think could have been done dude?

There is some evidence to suggest that nootropics (e.g. noopept) may aid in hippocampal neurogenesis which could help you if you're experiencing short-term memory problems.

Other than that, i don't think the rest of the damage is reversible. Weed accelerates synaptic pruning (your brain makes a lot of connections early on in life and later erases the obsolete pathways to maximize efficiency). Accelerating this process means that you got rid of important neural connections and maybe even prevented some from forming alltogether. Again, scientific literature is very scarce and obscure when it comes to the topic of repairing brain damage. If i were you, i'd start meditating (proven to grow grey matter in specific areas of the brain, i think prefrontal cortex too but i'm not sure) and look into nootropics once you're over the age of 25

Most of the perceived damage is done to the prefrontal cortex which you've effectively thinned

I already take a bunch of nootropics and I’m feeling somewhat better in terms of not feeling completely insane as time goes by but I know that how I feel is not normal completely far off. I feel I lost it at 16. I’m looking into cerebrolysin as well. I’m worried that you know chemically altering my brain at such a young age could have contributed to me showing bipolar like symptoms

Could it cause some permanent symptoms of bipolar or manic depression?I have extreme emotional dysregulation, hyper sexuality, mood swings, ahedonia, can’t even imagine how people find interest in things or enjoy them at all, almost feels like I can’t comprehend enjoyment of things most people find enjoyment from. And dwelling on the past all day. Again extreme self control and emotional issues and anxiety

It stunded your height

i mean its not overly uncommon, ik a few people who tried it a few times that age.

I would advise against using nootropics before your brain is fully developed

Yes, definitely, weed is known to accelerate the onset of latent mental illness and even express dormant genes that cauae them

Depends how much you smoked, me and my friends smoked all day everyday at that age and It definitely didn’t benefit us.

It worked for Biggie, look where he ended up!

Since thirteen, a chubby nigga on the scene

So your telling me this can’t be reversed even if I stay sober for good now?

What did it do?

yea, most likely stunted your growth as well

Nah I am still 5’q11 with a 5’1 mom and 6’1 dad. Growth is mostly all genetic

Pretty much
I mean do you think my weed smoking at 14 or Dxm all year at 15 did more damage? Should it be child abuse to give a 14 year old an ounce of marijuana if your his father?

Probably DXM but there's no way to tell and yes.

I’ll have to live with a destroyed mind for the rest of my life more than likely?even neurotropics likely can’t fix it?

Meditation can thicken your prefrontal cortex and that's what you should be doing alongside a good diet and lots of exercise. You still have a lot of growth left (prefrontal cortex matures at 25) so your brain could theoretically still compensate and workaround the damage. You do what i said and you have good chances that the problems will diminish in the long run.

Including the bipolar like symptoms? Or those will probably stay around forever?

I'm not a shrink so i can't tell you but you should probably consult with one.

I feel really mentally underdeveloped for an 18 year old almost like I’m on the level of a 14 year old still. My father was giving me so much weed at 14 should I ever forgive him for that or nah? He says he didn’t know any better.

Me? Nah idt it r 2 bad but 4 sum it could b.
