Did that happen to me because of my looks?

Real scenario: So I just walked into a store and I had a cap on with hoodie on top of the cap and I was walking around the store with a bookbag. I wasnt really looking for anything so I was walking around the aisle and one of the store workers asked me to put my bookbag in front of the store? I think she thought I was a thief or something like that? If I was a better looking person would she have thought that Im a thief?

This seriously happened to me and Im very depressed. Am I tripping?
