Did Tony Soprano Ascend with BLOATMAXXING?

I'm doing a Sopranos rewatch and realized, upon seeing this young pic of Gandolfini, that he might be one of those rare cases in which leanmaxxing actually makes you look worse.

I don't know how young he was in that pic, so that might be contributing (lack of maturation), but his jaw seems too overpowering and his very high gonial angle takes away from his looks. That coupled with his ogre chin/philtrum ratio makes him look weird when his jawline is clearly visible.

I believe he looked better when he was fatter, even when you factor in the balding. His large and broad build really suits this sort of 'rugged' look. The best he looked on the show was ofc, in the flashback to the early 90s when he was pictured with a bit more hair.

I would say his bloatmaxxed version improved his appeal to certain women that prefer masculine ogre bearish type of dudes and negatively effected his appeal towards women that want a more pretty boyish look.

On one hand, his skull shape is rather uncanny because it's really wide cheekbones combined with a high gonial angle that is inward and long midface. When you're lean, subhuman skull shapes are really exposed. It's like his head is the shape of an Egg.

But by bloat maxxing, his fat helps his lower third widen to match up with his wide cheekbones, and his gonial angle appears much less inward.
