Yes, I was one of those smartasses...The problem is I was surrounded by idiots who had no idea what I was talking about. In high-school I hanged out with other fine, educated, intellectual gentlemen discussing about literature, philosophy, science, etc...
The problem is these guys were invisible to girls, society moved into a very different direction so our knowledge and deep thinking became pretty much worthless in this day and age, no one gives a shit now about the authors you've read.

That's what reading books and listening to the teachers made me think - they always stressed the importance of being well read, educated, so you wouldn't appear like an ignorant fool in polite society. And of course, me and my nerdy buddies also judged people the same, and made fun of those unread, with a low IQ and limited vocabulary.
However, these guys didn't give a shit about this, were happy being ignorant and busy with girls, parties and living their life.

True, true....Some of my former ignorant classmates are now in high places - one guy is a manager at a security company, another guy a local politician, these guys did pretty bad in school, but their looks and social connections made life very easy for them.
