Anxiety meds are part of the protocol when undergoing surgery already.

I've had two hernia surgeries over a decade ago and a hip arthroscopy 2 years ago to repair a labral tear and hip impingement and never had any anxiety meds beforehand. Just went into the facility on surgery day and got an IV and then of course than anesthesia, and then some pain meds afterwards which I took for 1 day tops. Got discharged the same day and it was nasty for a while but that's how it is.

I'm sure you're talking about cosmetic surgery and not medically necessary surgeries but the same principle applies. As long as they don't mess up the anesthesia you won't feel a thing till after surgery
