That Leonardo da Vinci likely had ADHD?

1. Giorgio Vasari, Leonardo's first Renaissance-era biographer, described Leonardo as "variable and unstable," always wanted to learn but quick to abandon the projects he was working on.
2. In 1514, after da Vinci failed, over and over again, to deliver on assignments, Pope Leo X told him that he was inattentive as fuck.
3. According to, once again, Vasari, that da Vinci, on his death bed, told King Francis I of France that he disappointed God and mankind by not fully completing his art projects.

Also, in a paper published by Marco Catani (Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King's College London) and Paolo Mazzarello (Department of Brain Sciences, University of Pavia), it basically stated this:

[Leonardo da Vinci: a genius to distraction]

There were plenty of other things too, such as him producing about 20 paintings in his entire life yet a large majority were unfinished, the Sforza Horse which he worked on and off on for about 12 years before deciding that he'll just abandon it, and the Battle of Anghiari he failed to finish.

Anyways, yes, I know that ADHD as a clinical diagnosis only exists from the 20th century, DSM-III in 1980, to be really specific.
But that is not the point of all this. I'm making you look at the behavioral patterns based on the primary record, as much of a retrospective hypothesis this is.​
