this is a game called hockey. it was played irl, preferably in winter, but you could also play it in summer. you did not need to purchase a season pass to play:

now this was very hi tech, a video game with a technology called 'local multi player'. it was multi player, but your friends would still be with you irl and you would share doritos and have fun:
