I watched a season, then quit. It was depressing, confusing, the characters looked all the same, dressed the same, acted the same, I seriously couldn't distinguish between the female characters, this combined with the overly convoluted plot made me quit watching it.

There seems to be a sort of sequel series from the same producers. 1899. I didn't watch it.
