just sounds cool and looks pretty good with a the Italian architecture on the coast and lakes and alpine pastures in the mountains.
Balkans is genetically and culturally more southern then eastern european really, people here just don't speak latin, that's the only difference, cause of the slavic invasions and large depopulation from the huns and germanic tribesplace of power.
