I've recently been tracking my diet on an app which offers micronutrient tracking. From what it shows, I could very well be deficient in Omega-3 and 6 because I very rarely eat anything else than my routine meals of brown rice, turkey breast and eggs with avocados, carrots and clementines/oranges. This would also explain my dry skin with dry brittle hair over the last few months.

Anyway, I've ordered fish oil capsules with EPA and DHA, but should I also supplement ALA and Omega-6?

omega 6 is inflammatory, would be cautious with that stuff

I don't think it is unless your o3:eek:6 ratio is off or you consume it in large amounts. It remains an essential polyunsatured fat

This is true but you'd have to constantly regulate the amount of seed oils you consume daily as well.

Idc about that tbh I'm already tracking everything. I might as well buy sunflower oil or some shit and glurp a teaspoon or so every day

just eat more fatty fish and sources of omega 3. also if you arent tracking your oil then that might be the reason it says youre deficient in omega 6. in general simply eat a more varied diet

I only use small amounts of olive oil that I spread in my rice.
Yeah but fish is annoying to cook and canned sardines make me really gassy

Fish is as easy to cook as anything else. You can just buy some salmon and cook it in a pan or in the oven/air fryer just like you would chicken

Yeah maybe, I could eat it 200g twice or week or so? According to my tracker it doesn't contain any ALA though but I guess it's no big deal

That sounds like a good dose. And once again I suggest simply varying your diet more overall. Don't eat the same things all the time as that predisposes you to nutrient deficiencies

Yeah I vary things like I try to eat red meat twice a week instead of turkey breast and when eating lunch I go to a bakery they make salads out of potatoes, rice, lentils, tuna, etc

Would you confirm it's useless to supplement ALA as long as I have enough DHA and EPA? What about omega-6?

fish oil is rancid you're fine with eggs

I actually buy my supplements from a reputable brand, the omega 3 are all in triglyceride form cold-extracted, etc and they have a table with the amount of EPA and DHA
But I might save money just eating fish tbh. What confuses me is that there's also ALA and omega-6 and idk which levels I should aim for those

you get way more benefits out of eating sardines every day

Sardines make me gassy asf. I'll try eating one this evening to see if it's just a coincidence but if not I'll buy salmon twice a week

Consume cod liver you’ll be MAXXED out with omega 3s
Probably would only need to consume once a week
