Difference between ptosis and bad undereyes

What is the difference between droopy lower eyelids (ptosis) and poor under eye support
I can tell from a side profile but how do you know from first glance the difference

Yes but how do you tell the difference from first distance like I notice people with bad under eye support from the front have like dark spots and a protruding lower eyelid almost. Like I have slight ptosis but I don’t think I have bad under eye support
