“ORAL TREN” IS A BAD NICKNAME FOR R1881

people think that it is an identity. Cheque / the clear / RU-2420 are not the same thing either

THE MIXUP

nophono says “methyltrienolone” all day. I think I've only seen it referred to as such a dozen times out of thousands of posts. they say oral tren. thread titles are “Metribolone 101: Oral Trenbolone” and “Methyltrienolone is essentially Oral Trenbolone.” i guess that nickname stuck

what they mean is R1881 / metribolone / methyltrienolone: tren’s Δ9,11-19-nor frame plus a 17α-methyl. Roussel, first described 1965. the lab androgen. ³H-R1881 is still the hot ligand used to measure AR. CAS 965-93-5. C19H24O2, 284.39.

chemically it is methyl-tren. it is not tren you swallow. the 17-methyl is why it is oral, why the per-mg numbers look insane next to tren ace, and why it is not “the same drug with a different route.” nickname ≠ identity. that is the load-bearing point.

THE NAMES THAT SIT NEXT TO IT ((un)COMMON MIXUPS)

these do not get called oral tren the same way. they get parked in the same drawer: tiny, tren-adjacent, 19-nor, “nuclear.” regulars who have read a profile usually keep the names. beginners lump the drawer.

CHEQUE / MIBOLERONE

7α,17α-dimethyl-nandrolone. same two methyls you will see on RU-2420, no Δ9,11. Upjohn oral 19-nor (Cheque Drops), CAS 3704-09-4. people group it with mtren as mcg-range aggression/PWO. they rarely claim it is tren.

THE CLEAR / THG / TETRAHYDROGESTRINONE

another 19-nor triene. the tell is the 18-methyl (gestrinone family), not a 17-methyl on tren. BALCO / Patrick Arnold story. people who followed Bonds keep this separate. people who only know “designer tren-like oral” will dump it in the pile. not the same sloppy synonym as oral tren.

MENT / TRESTOLONE

7α-methyl-nandrolone. the 7α trick on plain nandrolone. anyone past beginner boards already keeps this name.

DIMETHYLTRIENOLONE / RU-2420

R1881 plus a 7α-methyl. that extra methyl is the only reason the second name exists.

- 7α,17α-dimethylestra-4,9,11-trien-17β-ol-3-one
- CAS 10110-86-8
- PubChem 101678228
- UNII 8GP0J5637H
- C20H26O2, ~298.4

Roussel-Uclaf, first described 1967. never a pharmacy product, never in the early-2000s bottles. almost nobody mixes this up, because almost nobody has heard of it. it is the citation under the R1881 page, not a log.

so, without pretending these five get used interchangeably:

- tren = injectable Δ9,11-19-nor
- R1881 = 17α-methyl-tren (what people call oral tren)
- RU-2420 = 7α,17α-dimethyl-tren (the extra methyl on R1881)
- cheque = 7α,17α-dimethyl-nandrolone, no tren double bonds
- THG = 18-methyl 19-nor triene
- MENT = 7α-nandrolone

R1881 is already loud on PR. RU-2420 jumps more on PR than on AR. that is why this drawer still reads like tren and not like a dry DHT oral. ER is nothing.

animal writeups put R1881 and RU-2420 past 100× oral methyltest. that is a rat oral multiplier, not a human milligram chart. nobody has a clean clinical series on RU-2420 because there was never a marketed product.

neither is a 5α-reductase substrate in the T to DHT way, and neither aromatizes. the triene already is the shape.

DNR:

oral tren is just what people call R1881. it is methyl-tren, not tren in a pill.

cheque and THG live in the same drawer. they are not that nickname.

RU-2420 is R1881 with one more methyl. obscure because it stayed in catalogs, not because it is the finished form of tren.

R1881 is tren’s frame plus a 17-methyl, which is why it’s oral and why it hits way harder per mg than ace. treat “oral tren” as the same drug and you’re borrowing tren’s reputation for something else.

that is the map
