The second guy is going to be better off whilst the first guy is probably going to sit on those 7 books and do nothing but this is hardly a question of discipline and more so logical planning. If the first guy stuck through and read said 7 books then he'd have more discipline. But it's a much smarter move to slowly work your way up with simpler material on your way up to more complicated topics
