My stance on (well designed) implants, is that they the BETTER option for those with only slight recession OVER a bimax. Why?

Multi vector projection

The simple answer is, front is law. While a bimax can provide good projection, and ascend side profiles (and faces in motion) it has little to no impact on the frontal profile in all cases EXCEPT sfs patients. Implants on the other hand, provide projection and shape in every vector. This is most important for NARROW faces... which is the real killer of jaw aesthetics in men!!!

Most guys don't need more forward jaw projection, they need more LATERAL projection.
Bimax ramus widening is too temperamental, and often doesn't provide enough lateral projection. Implants on the other hand can literally take a deformed face like this one and give it normal frontal ratios, in this case they are actually very good.

Why this is important?

The important takeaway is this:

1. Bimax for severe recession and or functional issues, also bimax for downswung steep occlusal plane (and the resulting mandibular plane angle)
2. Implants in every other case

It is important because I see way too many bimax results where there are only marginal gains to the side profile, and absolutely nothing to the front. IF YOUR MANDIBULAR PLAN ANGLE IS WITHIN RANGE, and you lack lateral jaw projection, implants will do more for you than bimax will EVER be able to.

Implants can also be combined with genio to ascend those only slightly recessed. But again surgery is a case by case basis thing, its unique to you, this is just a general overview.

Note: This guy needed both bimax and implants, he has a very steep mpa which you can still see from the side despite the implants.

Fillers and implants is the only thing that has potential to truly ascend most people

i am hearing this shit when i am getting trimax in 2 weeks :ROFLMAO:
you're having bimax done so your lower lip doesn't stick out infront of your upper lip like a fucking orc

and also your philtrum nasiolabial is like 85° with no curvature

Bimax / trimax is still a great surgery for aesthetics. Even if you dont NEED a bimax it will still make you look better, particularly in motion and will give you a better side profile (assuming no botch). So don't worry.

i always thought wrap arounds are the highest potential surgery tbh
