I'd say it has to do with belonging, African Americans have lived there for 400y and believe themselves to be pure Americans whilst Africans still have that link to their home so I guess at least for me it's similar to staying over at a neighbours house, shouldn't act out that's why black crime rates are a joke in Europe compared to American unless you're on about Nordic countries like Norway and sweden
