One of my roommates is disgusting
Honestly, just need to get this off of my chest and vent because it’s miserable. I (22m) live with two girls, one is my best friend (23f) and the other is someone we just found via posting an ad for needing a third person to live in our place since were both in uni and can only work part time. She was fine at the beginning and just came off as a little weird at first.I figured we’d learn to get along as long as she pulled her weight.
Fast forward to today, she’s been living with us for about 2 months and both I and my friend HATE her. I have taken to counting how many days she goes without showering since I am often home since I work overnights twice a week and only have class twice a week and it has currently been 12 days. She will take food into her room but never throw out her trash so both her and her room reek. This wouldn’t be a problem if the smell was contained but even if her door is shut most of the time, the whole apartment smells horrible.
Aside from that, while less dramatic than that, both my friend and I are queer and stinky is straight. Fine right? Realistically. She will very loudly talk to her friends and even to us about how straight she is but at the same time very much openly fetishizes gay relationships. It’s hard to offend me but it pisses me off.
She also will very obviously lie and feels the need to butt into conversations about having x,y, and z disabilities (examples: epilepsy, DID, asthma…for some reason.) whenever I have openly talked to my friend within earshot of stinky about my bipolar disorder or ehlers danlos syndrome.
Overall, I try not to be confrontational since I have a fairly short fuse but she refuses to do anything about her cleanliness even after being spoken to about it and we can’t kick her out until we find another person to fill the space.
