I've done 6+ DIY sessions of Aqualyx on and off in the past year. I will show you exactly how to do it (with pics) for the best results. A lot of ppl have been asking but it really is a straightforward and easy process.

Dosage and Injection Points
The golden rule for optimal results and avoid irregularities or dents is 0.1ml = 1cm. For example, if I am injecting 0.12ml per point, I will space the points on my grid 1.2cm apart. Do not inject over 0.2ml per point.

Examples spaced 1.2cm apart (cheeks):

Aqualyx2
Aqualyx3

Try to keep the grid identical on both sides like this. Left img for my left cheek, right img for my right cheek.
Aqualyx1

This grid had an odd shape because I pinned along my mandible. Regardless, the points are spaced evenly 1.2cm apart.
Aqualyx5
Aqualyx6

Some examples with more injection points.
Aqualyx4

This was for submental fat (double chin). The grid doesn't need to be as perfect. Realistically, most people wont notice small irregularities (if any) under your chin.

Needle and Injection Technique
Buy 6-8mm needles, 27-31 gauge.
Aqualyx7

I prefer 30 gauge for comfort and less bleeding.
Aqualyx9
Aqualyx8

Do not reuse needles. It is much easier to preload the syringes with the exact doses and push the entire dose in. This ensures consistent dosing per point and sterilization. Syringes are also extremely cheap off Amazon, it's not worth reusing.

Always pinch when injecting. The angle doesnt matter as long as you pinch for subq fat. Personally, I always do 90° and insert the full needle length. I recommend this for two main reasons. Firstly, it is easer to be consistent at 90°. Trying to inject 30+ different points at the same 45° angle is very difficult. Secondly, you avoid superficial dermis injections.

Aqualyx10
Aqualyx11

This is what happens when the Aqualyx is injected too superficially. Left img post injection, right img three weeks later. It's not the end of the world, only temporary and not noticable like a popped pimple.

Full Supply List
- Needles (Amazon)
- Alcohol Wipes (Amazon)
- Any Pen to mark points
- Aqualyx (Idk if it counts as advertising for me to give sources), but scan the qr code on your box for authencitiy. I paid £150 for a box of 10 vials. You can store unopened vials at room temp, I don't recommend reusing vials.

Risks
It's similar to DIY botox and quite low-risk. Because you're injecting a small dose of Aqualyx per point, any mistake only leads to minor and temporary effects. For example, minor nerve damage, intramuscular injections, superficial injections etc. it was never serious, systemic, or even noticable to anyone. Everything that could possibly go wrong will eventually heal in a few weeks. Just make sure you properly disinfect the area beforehand with alcohol wipes and use gloves or at least wash hands to avoid infection like any other injection.

Timing, Swelling, and Pain
You should wait a minimum of three weeks in between sessions. Be patient, dead fat cells dont come back. There's no need to rush.

The swelling is normal, you will look like a chipmunk for 5 days. By day 5-6 the swelling will go down a significantly and will not be noticable. So make sure you dont have any responsibilities before pinning. I don't leave my uni dorm for a week after pinning. It's recommended to avoid vasodilator/constrictor drugs like alcohol, caffeine or stimulants after, but honestly it doesn't really matter.

Obv it wont feel nice because Aqualyx is designed to kill and damage fat tissue. Depending on your pain tolerance you could use lidocaine. Personally, I've never used lidocaine, the pain was never unbearable for me. It hurt most in my first session mainly because I didn't know what to expect. But after a few sessions the pain really didn't bother me at all.

This is not medical advice or a recommendation. This is an educational post based on what I have personally done to myself. Consult with a licensed medical professional before any procedure. This is purely sharing my personal experiences and what I have done on myself and only myself. It is not intended as a recommendation to others.

If anyone has any further questions reply or PM me. I will do my best to answer :HYPERSL:.

This is all cool and all, that we are trying and shit. But this type of thread always reminds me how chads have everything going for them. Meanwhile, you’ve got this guy buying fat dissolvers, ordering a gazillion needles, researching all this stuff and in the end he still not even close to reach chad's level, fucking insane lol.

i mean you don't have to use loads of needles, i've done a one needle for 3 points before. its just more inconvenient when you actually pin because you have to keep track and push the exact amount instead of just injecting the entire needle dose.

Why you doing so many session what’s your goal and your dosage?

How long / how any sessions did you see results and is it significant? because 6 sessions is kinda crazy u killing off A Lot of fat, and fat is necessary for when you get older down the line, so you don't look uncanny.

I do 3-4ml total for the face or 3-4ml for the double chin. The results per session are modest, I definitely saw results over time but don't expect drastic changes from just one session.

My goals are: 1) a more defined lateral zygomatic projection; 2) a more defined jawline; 3) hollowing below the medial fat pads (lateral-temporal cheek/jowl/middle-cheek fat pads); 4) sharper side profile from more acute cervicomental angle.

Fat as a youth indicator is an oversimplification. Not all fat pads age the same. Superficial fat pads (the layer you inject Aqualyx into) does not lose volume with age, they typically descend and may even gain volume, e.g. jowls. By contrast, Deep fat pads lose volume with age e.g. buccal fat pads. I dont recommend buccal fat removal.

Aging2

I avoid injecting in the highlighted triangle (left img). For example, into the medial fat pads, orbital fat pads etc. These areas are prone to hollowing from age related descent, and these are the areas you want volume in.

how do you make sure you're not pinning intramuscular? cuz you said you pin at a 90° angle and pinch but is that really it? Do you just pinch and shove the entire needle in? Other then that nice thread

yes. pinching and possibly lifting if subq fat is very thin, is the most reliable way to seperate subq fat from deep fascia/muscle. I just recommend 90° and using the entire needle because its easier to be consistent. its harder to ensure every angle is 45° rather than simply perpendicular at 90°.

if the needle is injected at different angles the Aqualyx will not be evenly spaced apart and your result may not be as good.

But after a few sessions the pain really didn't bother me at all.

the pic in my post where I injected to shallow/superficially was the minor hyperpigmentation. but it was small like 5mm, unless you were analysing my face up close there's no way anyone would have noticed. the spot went away after a few months just apply sunscreen like any small post-acne scar so it heals.

Aqualyx or lemon bottle? Which would be better

aqualyx (EU) or kybella (U.S) are the only approved brands which contain sodium deox, the fat dissolving acid. lemon bottle is unregulated and claims to contain lechtin but you cannot be 100% sure your batch does, and you cant verify the potency. lechtin comes from plants and the effect is not as reliable as sodium deox

Ok ok I might just go for Aqualyx then.

Try to keep the grid identical on both sides like this. Left img for my left cheek, right img for my right cheek.
View attachment 4674208
This grid had an odd shape because I pinned along my mandible. Regardless, the points are spaced evenly 1.2cm apart.

Some examples with more injection points.
View attachment 4674219
This was for submental fat (double chin). The grid doesn't need to be as perfect. Realistically, most people wont notice small irregularities (if any) under your chin.

Needle and Injection Technique
Buy 6-8mm needles, 27-31 gauge.
View attachment 4674263

I prefer 30 gauge for comfort and less bleeding.
View attachment 4674264View attachment 4674265

You can store unopened vials at room temp, I don't recommend reusing vials.

no, the best way to avoid hitting avoid hitting anything is to pinch and possibly lift if needed. i've done hundreds of injection points atp, and the worst case scenario is minor hyperpigmentation like a post acne scar. lets say youre injecting 0.1mL per point, even if you do hit a vein, it is nothing like injecting 2mL of filler which can cause vascular occlusion.

even professional clinicians inject differently. ultimately, the best anyone can do is ensure the Aqualyx is delivered into the subq fat layer at the correct depth and spaced apart evenly. don't obsess over the angle, the most important thing is to pick an angle and stick to it for all your injection points.

yea you definitely can. i would be careful abt it tho, generally you want volume in the medial/anterior part of the face. anyway its up to you tho, if you have a specific aesthetic goal then go for it.

I avoid injecting in the highlighted triangle (left img). For example, into the medial fat pads, orbital fat pads etc. These areas are prone to hollowing from age related descent, and these are the areas you want volume in.
«Deep fat pads lose volume with age» i dont recommend buccal fat removal.

Thats like the opposite of what everything online tells you. Where did u get this information from?

This is all cool and all, that we are trying and shit. But this type of thread always reminds me how chads have everything going for them. Meanwhile, you’ve got this guy buying fat dissolvers, ordering a gazillion needles, researching all this stuff and in the end he still not even close to reach chad's level, fucking insane lol.
He can easily reach "chad" level with these methods idk what Ur talking about.

Your injection dosages are the reason why you're doing so many sessions overtime, you're doing so many injections widespread with such little volume and expecting results, well I guess if you dont care about how many sessions it takes you I suppose. This is a cool DIY but it doesnt cover anything and this doesnt help anyone at all with learning how to perform it as far as the where to inject part but I admire the dedication you've been doing to Aqualyx, you didnt really give any safe injection points and where to start your grid you just kind of put zoomed in pictures of your cheeks. I suggest using liquid lidocaine mixed in with the Aqualyx for less pain. Goodluck on your journey.

What do you think about using aqualyx once a week but only 0.5 ml to get less swelling per session?
Maybe stop after 6 weeks and wait for a month to see results -> decide on using more less etc.

i wouldnt recommend it. you should wait at minimum of three weeks before you inject over the same area again so your body can heal the area and clear the dead fat cells
