Ive had many moles removed

If its flat the only way to remove it is surgically with excision

Otherwise just get it lasered, its fairly cheap

It is not flat, I have 2 flat ones near my eyes but I'm just planning on covering those with makeup for the time being

Better to use a plasma pen, instead of bleeding or getting an infection even if you clean the area and tool correctly. you might get an infection post "op"

Its really not worth it to cheap out on something that's not expensive to begin with when there's 100% chance you will end up with nasty scarring if you DIY, the risk to reward ratio ain't it.

Black Salve. Works like magic but do your research first.

my mom always told me "Dont do that or youll get cancer", idk if theres any truth to that. Might wanna ask the Doc GPT first about that one

i had laser mole removal done yesterday

idk where ur at but medical work in USA is notoriously expesnive yet i only paid $150 flat rate +50 for each additional (so if u have 2 to remove, youd pay 200)

this is a trivial cost and way safer/better cosmetically

a downside is that you need to spend the time to figure out what treatment u want specifically (and if its worth it depending on cost and how long itll take to find treatment)

my understanding is that there are 3 common ways to get a mole removed

surgical excision
shaving
laser

excision and shaving are more commonly used for rasied moles as if your moles are flat then there will be a divot. exicsion requires stitches so it has the worst cosmetic result.

shaving is good if u have a raised mole, but youll also need laser after. they just shave the raised part then laser the flat part, so this is more expensive. dont do this if it is flat due to divot risk

as for lasers there are many different types of lasers, so make sure you get the ones u want. from my research erbium:YAG lasers are the best (2940nm). unlike ablative co2(10000nm)/non-ablative q switched nd:yag(532nm/1064nm), the erbium ones are cold so the recovery period is faster and theres less likelihood of hypopigmentation and other heat related nonsense. both erbium:YAG and co2 are one time procedures, while the q switched nd:yag treatment will require follow ups. all of these procedures have low reccurence rate, assuming u go to the follow-ups for q switched.

i personally had a q-switched treatment done because i couldnt find the other lasers in a convenient spot in my area, and the price was good. im also impatient.

if u do get this done professionally im sure theyll tell u but make sure u use hydrocolloid bandages until the scab falls off and then use a strong zinc oxide (mineral) sunscreen. spf doesnt matter given its spf30+, making sure the sunscreen is mineral at a good concentration is much more important. i coudl explain further but just know that spf only protects from UVB, while zinc/titanium oxides protect from UVA.

this is what i use: https://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Purescreen-Mineral-Liquid-Sunscreen/dp/B0BLS8237F/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1P5184FUVR3ZF&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.RK5zoO8XoGmtq21jCVnYizd6qbpLxe3aoVj5VXCJI9RqjumSzDBy6co2qdYloU7g_NRDa4BMONju7SNKJPXSTEyduDZLYozFrbRPl1ZhhlXOOd94yYhRIrGtc8oH5SRTFP2m7Af34-gev0ghA9gW3tohl0MOXRENbDJv0fAntrw5quJB5z5aOOge87CEKCN0SBcHpLOXgneVfBbSC_j8gL6xhTID9TTfMohuOHvAs8r4QOuPIMXeuzn6VpWTYH04x42sBqNx6bagnYbqB5H1HdYd3qMoTNSqhnEopWNI44g.ThTxvUUcqh0OgwPwIQrxY6_GurJrvGHdo1h_Xw1rZp0&dib_tag=se&keywords=Neutrogena+Purescreen++Mineral+UV+Tint&qid=1771210204&s=beauty&sprefix=neutrogena+purescreen++mineral+uv+tint,beauty,84&sr=1-5&th=1
