DIY teeth whitening results (GTFIH)

Did 3 rounds in total over two sessions. Had horrible pain in my teeth tonight (couldn’t sleep til I had pain killers at 5am), but I think it payed off.

Lighting is a little different, but I’d still say the result is substantial.

I used 35% h2o2, together with gingival barriers and a curing light (basically pneumos guide)

I think about 6 months, after that I’ll have to do another round, but it’s maintainance from there on.

Probably gonna do another round in about a month tho cause I’m still not quite happy (never enough)

As far as I’ve read, the h2o2 permeates your dentin (hard outer layer of your tooth) and bleaches the enamel. While permeating the dentil, it opens up micro channels into the tooth. That basically makes your teeth a lot more sensitive to temperature and can cause pain.

no long term effects from what i’ve read. The microchannels in your teeth are closed pretty much instantly (max 2 days). Apart from that, it’s purely cosmetic. The only real risk is burning your gums / mucus membranes with the h2o2 but even that isn’t really that bad. The affected spot turns white for a day or two and then everything turns back to normal.
