The thing with models is they tend to be aesthetic rather then conventionally attractive. If I were to summarise models, I would say a large portion of them look unique, rather then being conventionally attractive. There are truly good looking models (PSL gods) but facial averageness is important. A fair portion of models are goofy looking, and alot of them have thin bodies (mainly female) which lowers their SMV. The female models are also very tall, making them targets for bullying by other girls.

I am unsure about the men, but alot of male models look twinkish. I would imagine some of them got bullied. However most models are tall.

Finally as you said jealously is a factor which leads to bullying. jealously and envy are the worst emotions a human can display. Being overcome by jealously can lead to some really cruel acts.
