Do basic/clean girls even like long haired guys?

I have long ass curly hair (reaches my nipples, if not it goes even under em. if straightened), its thick n js as if a girl took care of her hair. But it seems that im getting attention mainly from the alt girls and not as often as I want from basic girls.
Many girls have told me that if I cut it off I'd be able to pull em basics. But here I am, still coping
