It depends on how bad is your crowding, if it's just 1-2 outside of position, just get invisalign, it's more convenient. If it's many teeth, and they're significantly out of position, get braces.

Will either of these ruin forward growth? No, unless you're having teeth pulled, these could actually enhance your forward growth slightly. The only case where orthodontic treatment reduces your forward growth is when teeth are removed, and they're pushed back to fill the gaps.
