Do braces really fuck up your face?

I heard that braces should be used as last resort for maliclusion and that they fuck up your face is that really true or???

As long as they take no shortcuts, like pulling perfectly healthy teeth just to speed up the process of getting proper occlusion, they're good.

A healthy bite is ideal and will prevent asymmetry.

No I got them when I was young and didnt have a phone but just trust bro orthos ruin your life with rubber bands

no. ive had braces for 1.5 years and im as much as a recessed subhuman as i was before i got them.
