Would it actually put enough force on the maxilla of a fully developed face to move it back?

It doesnt fuck up shit neither at adults nor children.

You guys should stop being egoistic retards abd stop blaming environment for your fucked up jaws, accept ypurgenetix inferiority and start saving for bimax

No. Elastics don't alter the shape of the maxilla or mandible for that matter. But they modify the position of your teeth via alveolar bone remodeling, which can cause over-compression of the TMJ in growing mandibles and all kinds of functional, postural and cosmetic problems that may go far beyond the craniofacial complex. This is particularly problematic in children and teenagers whose jaws are still growing, as conventional orthodontic treatment prioritizes straight teeth over a healthy bite and functional TMJ. I'm not saying orthodontic camouflage can't be harmful for adults, but it definitely is for children

Please remove yourself from the world, its the only way for you to stop coping. Elastics literally push the maxilla back, theres no dialogue about that.

It affects the alveolar bone. But it also affects the maxilla, its very well documented. Thats the reason why it can give TMD, tmd nothing more is than the lack of balance between the maxilla and the mandible.

to say it doesnt its actually insane, its to ignore Newtons third law.

So orthodontists are lying? Can you link articles or videos for me to check out?

most orthodontists wont denied that it recess the maxilla, if they are honest. They are not lying, they just tend to hide this info because in their logic its still good. Its basically an exchange, you are improving your mandible at the cost of the maxilla.
