Actually you are getting a good point , compact midface is very important to have the "slayer" pheno which obviously catch eyes
However only if it's due to a good craniofacial development (i.e wide zygos/ipd or good maxilla), actually most people have either normal or midfaces on the shorter side so by itself it doesn't mean much.
