Do genetics play into face fat?

All of my family has chubby cheeks, my younger brother was really thin at a certain point and still maintained those chubby cheeks. Can genetics seriously play into face fat?

At the same time my brother ate whatever he pleased and wouldn’t eat clean, during my 100lb weight loss my face fat was the thing that didn’t change drastically compared to everything else, I seem to lose my face fat far slower than any other area on my body.
