Do I cut or maintance for height

im 17 and on the BMI, im overweight
Im starting gym and mma together to gain muscle and lose weight, but i also want to grow as tall as possible
im eating enough protien, avoiding sugar
if i wanna grow as much as possible should i enter a defecit to ensure im producing less estrogen or stay in maintance to consume as much nutrients as possible

you should first cut down to a much lower bodyfat to the point where you arent overweight anymore. also BMI is not an accurate way of determining your body composition. FFMI is much more accurate.

for height its more optimal to be on a slight surplus + a lot of protein

I got avg, so should i go 200 below maintance with lots of protien about 2x my bodyweight

u should be 10% and then add like 300-400 calories above maintenance 1g/lb of bw seems to work

thank you, so until i reach 10% i should cut as normal
