so i have braces and today at the orthodontist i heard him say smth abt elastics, but then he said “nevermind”

and i have a over bite, so should I get them?

Yes they’re crucial

I had elastics but never wore them so my overbite is still shit

I’ve heard they can negatively impact your maxilla tho

I think that is more of a concern in children then adults

elastics isnt optimal since insead of pulling lower jaw forward it pulls back aleovar process of maxilla, so not optimal, but probably better than having a overbite but its better to be fixed in other ways or just wait if you are actually going to get surgery later
