How to tell if your palate is small;

• Locate the flat area on the roof of your mouth right behind your front teeth
• Place the pad of your right thumb on the roof of your mouth

If your thumb

• Fits tightly with little to no room on either side --> Your palate is small
• Fits with room on either side and you don't feel it being caved in --> Your palate is average
• Fits with a significant amount of room on either side --> Your palate is large

Even if your palate isn't small asking your orthodontist for a palate expander would be a good idea if they let you to have one and you aren't too old for it
